GENDER AND DEVELOPMENT

The Gender and Development (GAD) Program of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is a vital initiative that promotes gender equality, inclusivity, and empowerment within the organization and the communities it serves. Rooted in national policies and mandates, GAD ensures that the rights, needs, and welfare of all individuals—regardless of gender—are recognized, respected, and protected. Through responsive programs, policies, and activities, BJMP integrates gender perspectives in jail management, focusing on the fair treatment of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), personnel, and stakeholders. It addresses gender-based issues, strengthens awareness, and fosters a culture of respect, sensitivity, and equal opportunity. The BJMP GAD Program continues to advocate for a safe, humane, and gender-responsive environment, contributing to nation-building and the promotion of social justice.

The 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝗫, led by 𝗝𝗖𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗗𝗢 𝗔 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗘𝗣𝗖𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗝𝗥, 𝗖𝗘𝗦𝗘, Regional Director of the Jail Bureau together with 𝗝𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗧 𝗝𝗘𝗡𝗡𝗜𝗙𝗘𝗥 𝗔 𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗥𝗡𝗔, 𝗠𝗠, Chairperson Regional GAD Focal TWG in partnership with 𝗗𝗶𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗹 - 𝗙𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆, headed by 𝗝𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗣 𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗠𝗔 𝗧 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗡𝗘𝗦 successfully hosted the 𝑩𝑱𝑴𝑷𝟗 𝑱𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒂 𝑹𝒖𝒏 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 at Sunset Boulevard, Dipolog City in culmination of the Women's Month.
